Yes, DCFC, I made my first post while the engineer was still here, as I wanted to know what my rights were :)

If it's out of warranty, your 'rights' are zero, as you would have to rely on SOGA. And even if they agreed to pay, you would never get a replacement machine (new for old), only a repair, unless it was uneconomic to repair.
Which it seems is the result you have got, but it's on a goodwill basis only.
I presume it is the condensor that has failed, as tumble driers don't have a compressor?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Oh yes they do! Heat pump condensing dryers have a compressor circulating refrigerant gas instead of a heating element! That's what makes them amazingly cheap to run.

Yes, Macman, he definitely said the compressor.

But, as I said, well done Bosch.... much appreciated :)

Point taken, didn't realise it was a heat pump model. One of those should definitely last more than 2.5 years, so a good result.

  • You must have got a 2 year warranty card with your purchase, show the dealer and tell that person to get a new dryer for you as the previous product was not of good quality and had stopped working before the warranty period. It is your droit social (legisocial.fr) and you must get a new product.
