  • We call the site "berated people". I doubt he has insurance or that he's a tradesman. Sorry to hear of your problems but you will have to give him chance to redress the problems unfortunately.

    The concept of OP trying to claim off the builders insurance is a total red herring. It suggests a lack of understanding of how insurance works.


    Yes the builder must be given a chance to fix the damage. If this is not forthcoming then the only option, I can see, is for the OP to take legal action. The OP cannot claim off his own insurance as the damage has been reported as being caused by the builder.

    I totally agree with the OP claiming off the builders insurance being a red herring. The OP's insurance company telling the OP to contact the builder's insurance company is a bit naughty as that is not the correct procedure. It was probably done as a fob off.
