I wouldn't dare imply that anyone was dumb. But if I was to propose the question. Who provides the finance for Tesco's cards?
Then you may be able to work it out from the link.0 -

Are you sure that's the case?ceredigion wrote: »rbs
It's been years now since Tesco bought out the JV from RBS. Indeed, it says on the Tesco website that...
"Tesco Bank Credit Cards are provided by: Tesco Bank, PO Box 27028, Glasgow, G2 9FT".
And on their Tesco Bank corporate website that...
"Tesco Bank is wholly owned by Tesco Plc, one of the world's largest retailers"
I understand the 'systems' may be the same, or have evolved from, the RBS JV, but the cards are underwritten by Tesco Bank aren't they?0 -

My DD is paid to
"RBS PLC FOR TESCO PERSONAL FINANC "
And only a month old so thought it must be still RBS0 -
Maybe RBS just clear/handle the payment, ie the aforementioned 'systems'?ceredigion wrote: »:undecided

FWIW, my Tesco credit card DD, which I pay from Halifax and has been running since May, is tagged...
TESCO BANK 5186************
...on my statement, and...
Tesco Bank
...on my list of direct debits.
So it must be Tesco Bank.
But seriously, I think we'll find it's our current account providers who determine how its shown.0 -
Tesco Bank provide Tesco Bank credit cards.
RBS have not done so for at least 4 years.Free is my favourite price!0 -
Thanks All for your help - In any case I recieved a letter today after closing the account.
"If you would like a new credit card in the future, we'd love to hear from you. You will be able to apply for a card with us again 6 months from the date you settle your balance to zero"
That seems to clear it up to me.0 -

They still use some legacy RBS systems so maybe thats why the RBS name check. All that glitters is not gold.0
