I have connected bluetooth devices without any problems, but I am having a problem connecting my windows phone with my windows 10 laptop. I'm getting 'pairing' on both which then goes to 'paired' When I try to connect they both go to connected, but then drop to 'paired' I tried sending a photo from my phone to the pc and I got a msg on the phone saying that my pc does not support bluetooth. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing the problem - could it be incompatible versions of bluetooth. As I said, I have hooked up my phone with bluetooth speakers and I have linked my phone with my sat nav and other phones. Any help would be much appreciated

This is the msg I get on my phone when I try to send a photo - ' The device you're trying to send to doesn't support sharing over bluetooth' What does this mean? According to the laptop spec, it does have bluetooth. I'm totally baffledBefore doing something... do nothing0

You may need to right click on the Bluetooth icon on the laptop and scroll to "receive a file"
Windows security forbids random sending of packets of data to your laptop for obvious reasons, it has to be authorised to accept the file.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

Thanks Mark for your suggestion. Would resetting my phone cause it to reset itself to the factory settings and is there a risk of losing any data. Before doing something... do nothing0 -
Try the right clicking the bluetooth icon and selecting receive a file first then try resending the file.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

select receive a file
Thank you Mark - that worked. I was able to send a photo to the laptop. However, it sent it to my documents(not pictures) folder as a JPG file. Will I need to use this fsquirt cmd in future to send / receive filesBefore doing something... do nothing0 -

There is a way to restore the bluetooth icon so you can right click, its a bit tricky but they are some videos on youtube you can follow and pause each step, then you will be able to right click the icon to get to fsquirtI do Contracts, all day every day.0
