Late payment on credit file

I recently changed the repayment date on my loan, whilst asking for this change i specifically asked if doing this will impact on my credit report in any negative way. I was told very clear that the payment will be like any other and reported as being on time as i am just adjusting the date. However since making the change i have noticed that for that month it now shows up as a late payment on my credit file.

What options do i have? They seem willing to help and admit that it shouldn't show up late but this has regardless impacted my credit file and i am not even sure when it will be corrected as i am awaiting a managers call tomorrow.

    Hi

If the information on your credit file is incorrect the creditor should amend it. As you say they seem willing to help you shouldn’t have any problems. You can complain to the FOS and ICO if they don't resolve the issue though.

If you've noticed information recorded incorrect on your Credit Report, you could contact the Credit Reference Agency (CRA) who provides your Credit Report, if your credit report is provided by Experian, you can contact us here as we'll be able to query the late/missed payment directly with the lender on your behalf.

Unless the conversation that you were due to have with the manager has resolved the issue already.

Experian, same for the other CRA's, won't make any changes unless the creditor agrees so if you are already speaking to the company directly then you are best getting them to correct it, most companies only upload data to the CRA once a month.

If the money is being received by the lender after the due date then it will be reported late. Why wouldn't it?

Because it's a mutually agreed change, and the lender said they wouldn't regard it as being late.

Nothing to suggest that the change was mutual. Unlikely that the OP spoke to someone with the authority to grant such a change of contractual terms.

A few months ago I wanted to change the payment date of my mortgage. Currently the dd is taken last working day of month and I wanted to change to early in the month (to allow slightly longer between payday and dd date).
I was told that this is ok BUT that the payment date could not be moved into a different month. It would be the next months payment taken early not the previous months payment taken late.
If payment due 31st October and wanted to change to 5th of month, October payment would be taken 31st October and November payment taken 5th November instead of 30th November, not the October payment delayed until 5th November..
    This actually makes sense really.
Could something like that have happened here?
