Calculating Redundancy

I have just been made redundant and I am certain they have calculated it wrong.
I have worked for the company for almost five years, I am aged 27 and work full time and I am paid weekly.
How do they calculate my redundancy?
For example if at the time of my redundancy my weekly wage is £400, should I receive £1600?
Or is it calculated on an average of my pay from when I joined the company, because I wasn't always on £400 a week up until 8 months ago.
I was under the impression that it would be calculated on my weekly wage at the time of the redundancy notice, multiplied by each full year I have worked for them.

Yeah £400 is my gross. I thought I was right because I have looked and looked on the internet to try and find a way they have calculated it and no such look.
They said they used the payroll manager program at it calculated for them... however they obviously thought it was four weeks pay at £400 because it even states on my letter of redundancy that I should receive £1600.
They tried to give me a weird amount like 932.23 or something strange like that, I pointed out to them straight away that this was incorrect.
Am I right to assume that it is based on your final weekly pay then?0 -

That is what I thought ossie, seems to me like that have worked it out wrong incorrect.
Is it correct that it is final wage they pay you, because I have seen if you change from part time to full time that you only get part time wage redundancy, so surely if they give you a pay rise then a few months later make you redundant they should pay you the redundancy based on your pay rise?0 -
Payment is based on the weeks/days you worked just before you were made redundant.
I worked for years full time, then went onto 3 days a week for a few years, my redundancy was worked out on 3 days.
I cant see how on earth they have come up with their figure, the correct amount is £1600
(hope you find a job soon)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I calculated it on the last 12 weeks I worked for them, which is what every website seems to say.0 -
When would you have had 5 year service?
Did you work your notice?0 -
I had my five year service three months prior to being notified of redundancy. I worked my full notice.0

If you have 5 years service then you are due 5 weeks redundancy pay
if your earnings are £400pw then that will be £2k
You did get 5 weeks notice pay?
