If you have Java installed, it might have been as a result of the recent Java security update. There is a tick-box on the update prompt which, if ticked, will change your browser homepage to Yahoo. I'm using Firefox and thought I was only downloading MS updates, not Java but hey ho.0 -

I think its discraceful how a reputable company performs drive by downloads and homepage changes
It is the bain of my life at the moment with users rampantly updating Java and not un-ticking the yahoo option.
Tip for the future : Watch what you are clicking "yes" to0 -
In a way you can't blame Java for cutting a deal with Yahoo to push their "service" out with free updates that users innocently/unwittingly accept. Microsoft have pushed stuff (IE, Bing etc. etc.) upon its users for years - and largely got away with it, but not always!It will have been the Java update that Yahood up your machine.

I'd suggest that the OP removed the Java Runtime Environment and see if anything objects. It can rapidly be reinstalled if there's a "missing Java" problem.0
