Address issues on credit file (or not?)

Hi all,
I've moved house, and my new address is on the fringe of 2 towns. The local Council use one town on my address for electoral matters, but Royal Mail (and most financial institutions) use the other (larger) town.
Should I change all of them to match my electoral roll entry? OR do credit checks and searches/files allow some slight discrepancies around addresses as long as the first line and post code match up?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as my wife & I are hoping to buy our first home together in the next year and we want to maximise our chances of getting a mortgage!

Hi there,
I assume you are renting this property so hopefully the landlord or estate agent should be able to offer some clarity on this. This may be a minor issue that never really comes of anything, but just in case, it would be worth confirming the address information and then informing/ correcting any organisation that you feel is using the wrong details.
