Has anyone ever had there vanquis credit card APR lowered?
I have had a credit card with them since 2012 which I am no longer using and it has no balance on it my intrest rate is 34.9% and has remained the same over 3 years the limit is now 3000 and I’ve been upgraded to their “GOLD” card which means I have an 0800 number to ring instead of an 0871.
In addition, I have since been accepted for the following cards
AQUA – 25.9% - £3000 Limit / 0 Balance
APS – 17.1% - £1500 Limit / £333 Balance
I only have a year to go before all the defaults I had five years ago drop of my credit file I am thinking of cancelling my Vanquis card now as I’m coming up to being normal in credit terms and don’t want too much available credit I don’t use on my file.
I just wondered if I ring up to cancel my vanquish card will they offer me a lower APR has anyone any experience with this

On 26 October 2015, new FCA regulations came into force which require financial services to use 01, 02, 03 or 080 numbers for contact by existing customers. This brings to an end the usage of 084 and 087 numbers.leedslad5501 wrote: »... I’ve been upgraded to their “GOLD” card which means I have an 0800 number to ring instead of an 0871.0 -

You can ask but they don't offer any benefits and you have 2 lower rate cards anyway. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
