Postage Refund Help

Hi,
I Bought two items with combined postage of around £8 from an online book store that I have used many times before. I got an email from them today saying that my books had been sent back to them stating that the item had not been called for (this is from the post office). The bookstore is now saying if I want them sent again I will have to pay postage again. I did not receive anything to say this had been dispatch or that they were being held by the post office for me, what are my rights to have the books sent back?
