Upon the completion of my house sale how quickly will my solicitor transfer the cash over to my bank account?

They can do it the same day by CHAPS, if you're willing to pay for the transfer and your solicitor is on the ball.0

Brill, thanks.0

You can have a transfer bank to bank so usually same/next day, or a cheque which will take 5 days to clear.0

You need to ask your solicitor. With some you'll receive it same day, with some it'll be a couple of days. Phone and ask.0

It will only come same day via CHAPS if it is sent before the cut-off. Depends on the bank but around 2- 3 O'Clock.
So it depends
a) what time your solicitor receives the funds from your buyer and
b) how long his admin takes to spot its arrival and make the onward CHAPS transfer
But make sure he knows you want it sent same day, and not a cheque in the post!0 -
Solicitor will typically charge around £30 or perhgaps more for doing a CHAPS transfer.
Given present interest rates the amount of interest you wil lose over 5 days or so will often be a lot less than the cost of the transfer!
So unless you need to use cleared fuinds for something else very quickly there may be no great point in insisting on a CHAPs transfer.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0
