in Cutting tax
Hi there
I hope someone can help me and point me in the right direction
In conversation the other night someone told me that I can claim a refund from the tax office .. to be fair I didn't catch all of the conversation
I am one of the lucky ones who now live in Australia.
I have been here since August 2015, prior to that I have worked via an employer in the UK, who paid my taxes out of my salary. As I understand it, each year you are given an amount that you are not taxed on, as I have left the country I should be entitled to claim this back from tax office.
Is there anyone who can confirm this ?
Even more importantly is there anyone who can tell me how to apply for this refund ? As I can only imagine that there are a host of forms, if I know what to ask for that will surely make things so much easier
Thanking you in advance
