Hi all,
I've put a TV in my sitting room, but the room doesn't have a TV aerial point (and I don't really want to install one due to the cost and hassle of redecorating etc)
Could anyone recommend an indoor / desktop TV aerial please?
Just been chatting with my sister who says she's tried several without any luck!
Thanks for any advice

It really depends on where you are with respect to your local TV transmitter. (Distance, line of sight, obstructions). Sometimes a desktop aerial will work OK, sometimes not.
Are you sure your room doesn't have a TV aerial socket? (I've never known a property to NOT have one).0 -

I have one at the property, but not in this specific room.
The nearest TV transmitter is 12 miles away, but obviously line of sight and obstructions are more difficult to measure...You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -
Hi,
put your postcode into this site, the results are bit cluttered, but look at Antenna suggestion box, it will give you an idea of what will be best type for you, depending on distance from transmitter.0 -
Buy it from somewhere like a supermarket and then you can try it and take it back if it doesn't work.0

Most good aerial fitters will add a new point in your sitting room. It doesn't cost a fortune & they will run the cable outside, only drilling a small hole to feed the cable through.
I had feed to two bedrooms done a couple of years ago, no mess & no redecorating needed.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
borrow one from your sister and try it, or pound shopDon't you dare criticise what you cannot understand0

Agree with bsod. I used to work nights at an office and the tv picture was always terrible whatever we tried - cheap or expensive aeriels. My spare room has a cheap aerial in it (cost about £5 years ago) and picture is perfect.0
