PPI Nationwide Mortgage and Loan

Hi All - I have just received a letter from Nationwide confirming that we did have PPI on our mortgage and our loan.
However, I am not sure if it was mis-sold or not as I have no paperwork now and also I don't remember being sold it, in fact I had never heard of it until people started re-claiming.
So we didn't know we had it and would not have paid for it as we were both in stable jobs and if we had lost our jobs we would easily have found new positions. We had critical illness cover and life insurance if that makes any difference.
Also both of our employers at the time paid good sick pay.
Any ideas? I don't want to claim something I am not entitled to, but also don't want to miss out.
Thank you.

It doesn't. They dont overlap with PPI (at least, not mortgage PPI where the best package would be Life, CI cover, MPPI and PHI for many people). Some loan PPI would have death benefit on it.Also both of our employers at the time paid good sick pay.
Can make a different with loan PPI. However, the FOS have been rejecting complaints with 12 months sick pay for MPPI.Any ideas? I don't want to claim something I am not entitled to, but also don't want to miss out.
Its not an entitlement. There is no pot of money waiting for you. Every complaint is an allegation of wrongdoing. If they agree with your complaint, they will pay out. If they don't then they will not.
Loan PPI is structurally poor. Single premium and added to debt means it increased the interest. It tends to be a lower quality PPI than mortgage PPI. Most loan PPI complaints succeed. Mortgage PPI is still retailed today. One of only two types that still are. It is considered more important given the significance of the mortgage debt. Most mortgage PPI complaints fail. However, this is a bank/building society sale and you can never guess an outcome from them.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
