Questions about a new condensing combi gas boiler

We need a new condensing combi gas boiler and I have made a shortlist of suitable models based on capacity, size and price:
Baxi Main 24 HE
Biasi Riva Compact HE
Heatline C24 HE
Ideal Mini 24 HE
Ravenheat 120 lownox
These seem to retail for around £450 on-line, plus delivery costs. I popped into my local plumbers merchants and was given a price list much higher but I was told the prices were invalid and would all be discounted.
Is there much difference betweeen Sedbuk A and B?
What is the difference between a mechanical or digital or electronic clock/timer?
Which of these brands is best and most reliable and easy to fit?
It will go on an external kitchen wall and I'd prefer the flue not to be visible indoors.
Would I be able to get a similar price from a local plumbers merchant?
Thanks, any advice appreciated.

the difference between sedbuk A and B is 4% efficiency.
i would look at a vaillant boiler 24e for around 580 quid. a bit more money but much better quality.
or a worcester boiler? even better.Get some gorm.0 -
Good afternoon: TBO, my OH (plumbing/heating engineer) wouldn't install any of the boilers you have listed as they are considered by many CORGIS to be bargain basement boilers...cheap but certainly not cheerful. If you go to the Energysmart website you can get prices on several brands
http://www.energy-smart.org.uk/boilers.asp
Choose a boiler that has a good warranty and is rated Band A (details are available on every manufactuer's website) Get a couple of CORGIs (preferably recommended by someone you trust) to quote and advise...alternatively visit www.trustcorgi.com to find an installer near you.
For further info on the specification and installation of gas central heating go to http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/uploads/documents/housingbuildings/ce30.pdfAsk to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)0 -
Thanks Ormus.
Thanks Canklehead.
We're on a budget which is why we shortlisted cheaper boilers but we don't want our purchase to be a false economy and as you say, a decent warranty is valuable.0
