Morning everyone. Watery blue sky outside, track looks wet but not raining just now.
Had really clear drives up and down to Glasgow airport, sad to see my friend go as we had a relaxing chatty time. I fell off the doorstep on the way out the door  too busy looking at the chickens in the hedge. Luckily my friend was with me and she got a cushion for my poorly knee. Would have been so psinful to get onto my poorly knee on gravel. Didn't hurt anything, apart from pride, but last night the pain in my bum and hip started so I'll probably get lovely bruises. Think I got off luckily.
Today I have to wait in for two deliveries. A case of wine wasn't delivered by Tesco / Yodel / Oban Express, when I phoned up I was told that a delivery had been attempted and a card put through the door. No delivery had been attempted and there's not a letter box to put a card through! Seems that a 'resolution' to the complaint is an apology!
Right, off to start my day.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Morning all,
Nice bright day here but I struggles to get out of bed this morning, I really wish they would leave the clocks alone !
I feel so much better today so back to work for me I suspect it will be very busy as its half term and we have all sorts of Halloween events going on.
Something with mince for dinner will get DD to cook as she has the day off today.
Finally managed to get my towels washed and dried yesterday, without a smell of bonfire around them !!
Hester hope all goes well today xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone, get well wishes to all suffering today.
HH - strength to you m'dear
Cold and cloudy this morning when walked the dogs, lots of leaves to kick through now as the Beech trees are finally starting to lose their leaves, they always seem to last the longest.
Need to pop out to the post office this morning as have parcel that needs returning, will also pick up some fresh fruit, veg, cheese and eggs.
Have been putting off a difficult job, a big box of photos that had been in the loft but has been languishing in the office for a few months now. Lots of xh which I need to get rid of but also many of my family inc my DOB who passed away neatly six years ago, think need to get my big girl pants on and deal with it as this is getting ridiculous now.
Anyways, hope everyone has a productive day x0 -
Good Morning all off to Dover castle today with DD and the boys for a wander and a picnic.we usually go there at least once in the half term as I have an English Heritage ticket with the boys on and my DD has one as my 'carer' because I am registered disabled
.
We will take a picnic and I have only to make the coffee in a flask as DD has organised the food.So apart from the diesel in my car its a freebie day out with very little spent. The weather isn't looking too bad and as long as we are wrapped up warm we will be fine (it does get a bit breezy up there) there is usually something on for the children at the castle at half term time.Last year it was a tale-telling banquet with everyone sat at long tables while there was an enactment, good fun and free
Tomorrow I will have to go shopping for a few odds and ends but I have cut right down on buying food this month so I am hoping that I will get what I need for under £20 then have some to go into the holiday fund.
H/H that sounds really grim honey I hope you can kick a$$ and get something sorted.
Hugs to those in need and if your feeling poorly I hope the week improves for you all.
Eldest DD is in Las vegas and facetimed me yesterday She is having a great time and the weather is 79cher and her OH were going to see David Copperfield at the MGM hotel last night for dinner and a show.Sounds like they are having a great time
Right time I got the kettle on and had some porridge as it will keep me warm and fed until our picnic lunch
Have a good day everyone what ever you are doing
Cheers chums

We had planned to go to Dover castle JackieO, but my brother, who we were meeting there, has car problems, hope to do later in the week. I see in the newsletter there is a storytelling event next month that we plan to attend.
Starting to eat out of the freezer now to defrost before we go away early Dec, suspect a lot of meals will figure French beans and courgettes, i suspect freezer restocks these items when we aren't looking!
Have a good day, I really feel for you Hester, your poor MIL.Carolbee0 -
Good Morning everyone cloudy and grey here today with a brusque breeze blowing so the washing is flapping nicely on the line. Cooler out there too so I'm making a nice warming Neapolitan Lentil and Vegetable Stew for supper tonight, simmering on the hob and smelling wonderfully savoury. He Who Knows is immersed in next years seed catalogue on the dining room table and sorting what we already have and what we'd like to grow next season, very domestic!!!
I'm off tomorrow to Pushkin cat sit for DD1 who has just texted me from Berlin where she's taken the WW2 school trip with 40 odd 4th/5th year GCSE students and a couple of members of staff to visit relevant places like Check Point Charlie, the East side gallery(part of the Berlin Wall) and the Berlin Experience where they have a nuclear bunker underneath the building that would have taken 3,500 people, also Saxonhausen Concentration Camp which is something they'll NEVER forget. I'll be away until Sunday or possibly Monday and will catch up with all your news when I get back.

Afternoon all,
Hester, youve married into a family of goons....thats all i can say. I applaud you for staying strong and a pillar of support for your poor husband who is stuck in the middle of them.
I'm lots better bruising is getting better by the day thankfully and so is the cough.
Hubby is now off work ill though i'm not sure if he's ill because he's over medicating. I'm not saying he's not got a cold but he is taking far more paracetamol than he should.... Still, he wont be told and i'm his Wife not his Mother.
I'm trying to persuade him to take the caravan down to where he is working. I'm not happy that he (and Youngest) are staying under canvas when he's got a beautiful 26ft fully heated caravan at his disposal. Its only been used once this year so he might as well get some use out of it. As the car isnt big enough to tow it, i am looking for quotes for a third party to move it. He keeps saying he's fine in the Wigwam (he calls it his wigwam :rotfl:) but i am wondering what he'll do when the snow is on the ground. The thing is with my hubby, he sees what he thinks is a good idea but doesnt think things through.
Oh well,
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Afternoon all ((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Bright day cold and windy though, laundry out, Monday clean done, even moved the bed to hoover underneath.
Window cleaner here cleaning the outside windows, normally do them myself, but have got the 'just cannot be bothereds'.0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Hope everyone is feeling better.
HH thinking of you and I hope that a satisfactory resolution can be found for MIL in her favour as she is the priority.
It is a lovely sunny day here today, but I think the rest of the week is not looking so good. DD and I are off for half term, and I am booked to go and see my Mum tomorrow for a few days. I haven't seen her since May and feel I should make sure she is alright as she is nearly 83.
Hopefully we shall have the car by the end of the week but haven't heard anything yet. I am going to see Mum on the train.
I have 2 loads on the washing line so hoping it will dry. Need to get the children to do their rooms today.
We have leftover pulled pork for dinner together with the rest of the pudding so nice and easy.
I'm going to make a couple of dinners for everyone to keep them going while I'm away:rotfl:
Anyway I had better get on hugs to everyone and have a lovely afternoon and evening. xSPC 11 #4450 -
Had a few problems with the computer, so not posted. It seems I had 2 trojans:mad::mad::mad: lucky DH and DS sorted it out for me and I am back online.
Two loads of washing on the line, we have a little breeze so hopefully it will dry.
Up all night with a flare up of oesophagitis so major heartburnmanaged to get it settled eventually at about 6ish after taking a double dose of lansoprazole and a glass of milk, went back to bed until 9.30, so massive brain fog today.
DD has a day off today so she and her BF have gone out, DS has a college friend round talking very technical highbrow stuff and DH has just got home from work, he only has 27 hours this week which means a tight month next month
DH cleared the raised beds yesterday so we just need to get them prepped for next year. We are going to try the "lasagne" method this year
http://greenthumbs.cedwvu.org/factsheets/lasagna.php
Hester I hope that you can get things sorted once and for all today xx
