I have a 1625rail card, when I look up at the fee of Battle(East Sussex Southeastern) to London Term, nationalrail website shows advance "Single from £6.65" with railcard, so I went to the station(Battle) to buy the ticket. The staff told me that the system of the station is different from the website, there are no advance available, the price is £14.60 with railcard (No advance discount). Anyone have that situation before?

Sounds very odd, though it can happen that if a station is busy they will only sell tickets for immediate travel.
Maybe they explained that badly0 -
Single from £6.65 - was that fare available on the train you wished to travel on?0

Where I work we never sell advance tickets on the day of travel
. However cross-country on their website offer this service. But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more0 -
why wouldn't you order online and collect at the machine anyway? why do you need to do it at the station?!0

Yes, our nearest train station doesn't let me buy advanced tickets either but I find it's easier to order then online to pick up at the station anyway.0

I think pretty much all stations sell advance tickets but definitely not on the day of travel - generally there's only a few cheap seats for each service.0

I'm pretty sure East Midlands Trains offer Advance Fares (at the station) up to 6.30pm before the day of travel; maybe it's the same for South Eastern Railways? It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0

I have sometimes been very lucky and bought an advance fare ticket at the station on the day of travel. However, the station can only sell what is available, and bargains usually go well in advance.0
