PPI has been identified?

Hi All
Newbie here!
I have sought a claims company to peruse mis-sold PPI for me. I have received a small payout from Lloyds but have had trouble with HSBC. The reason for this seems to be that since taking out and paying off the loans and credit card, I have changed my name (by marriage), moved address, and altered my signature. However having been into the branch with my docs etc they have now returned info to the claims company which states 'PPI has been identified on a loan taken out in 2000, a loan taken out in 2003, and a credit card taken out.in 2004.
Do I take it from this then, that they did actually charge me for PPI and that if my claim is successful, I will get paid out? And does anyone know the % of what that could be?
Thanks in advance.

If your claims company are as professional as they have no doubt told you that they are, they will, no doubt be able to give you an answer.
Whether the answer is reliable is, though, a matter of some doubt!0 -

There is nothing wrong with having PPI. The whole issue is about the sales method. So, if you have only had confirmation of debts that had it then that tells you nothing about the status of your complaint. And does anyone know the % of what that could be?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thank you Dunstonh.
I have seen your (many many) replies to numerous requests for advice on this forum. What is your profession if you don't mind me asking? Are you a financial advisor of some sort?0 -

No, you are correct, there is nothing wrong with having PPI at all. In fact, several people I know have had to rely on it when times have been hard. However, I did not realize I had it, and if it was offered / explained to me at the time, I would have refused it.0 -
I originally sought out a claims company to handle my ppi but have since been sending them directly to the ppi companies myself with 100% money back instead of having 60% back and 40% paid out to the ppi company. Been very successful.0
