Vacuum cleaner thermal cut out?

Seems like thermal cutout switch comes into operation after a few minutes use on our Bissell Powerclean hoover. Works fine again for a short while so am putting the issue down to the switch
Can this be repaired/replaced as a DIY or is it time for the great hoover graveyard in the sky?

Cheers as usual

It's more likely that the machine really is overheating, and you should look to cure that. Check all the filters are clean, there's no blockages and everything moves freely. take it apart, clean it and put it back together and see if you still have the problem.

Checked both filters, pre and post? The post motor filter invariably gets forgotten, if fitted.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
