Wow, a £23k/year stipend? I got about £16k and that was significantly more than all other PhD students in my department.

Do you have any advice in general about money and being a PhD student?
On one hand, you're young and should enjoy life especially as a PhD is hard work, and most peers don't have as much. On the other, if you choose academia you don't exactly get paid fairly these days.0 -
I had pretty low outgoings as a PhD student so I just saved as much as I could then went to industry when I was done to earn more.Do you have any advice in general about money and being a PhD student?
