No charge for anything here in North Yorkshire (Harrogate Borough Council)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Our council North Tyneside tried to introduce a charge for garden waste collection 2 years ago, they got that much flack, people saying they would not use the garden bins and put the waste in with the household rubbish,.
Of course the council were concerned that would increase the use of landfill and have to pay a penalty to the government, so they changed their mind.
The charge was to be around £12 pa, and some people me included thought it was a fair price and knew the council needed to raise cash and we paid.
After they changed their minds the money had to be refunded of course, what with all the information sent out about it, the collection and refund of money, I wonder how much that excessive cost.
It has never been raised again!0
