Grant of Representation

If I obtain a copy of a grant of representation, what exactly will it show.
Will it only give the deceased details and who the next of kin is that is administering the estate.
Not actual details of assets etc. ?

The grant gives details of the deceased: (full name(s), address, dod)
Full name(s) and address(es) of those who granted the power to administer the estate {no requirement for any to be next of kin at all}
It also lists the gross and nett value of the estate (taken from the IHT forms that need filing with the Probate documents and original will).
A copy of the will is attached to the main Grant, but extra copies (50p each) do not have the will, normally, in the UK.
Importantly the Grants have the Court Seal embossed/stamped into it.
Letters of Administration (where there is no will) may be slightly different.

is a Grant of Rep different to the Probate then?
I'm asking because a non-relative is acting as administrator/executor of a sibling's estate.
I've asked twice now for a copy of the probate but have not received anything.
Does this mean that I can make my own application for a copy by paying 50p?
I have no financial interest in this, sibling died intestate and parent is the beneficiary, but as the parent is in the early stages of dementia, I want to ensure fair play.0 -
You can get a copy of the grant directly from the Probate Registry, but it will cost you £10. As the document will not have your name on it, there is little you can do with it except to file it somewhere.
As stated in post #2, it won't provide any information beyond names, addresses, and value of the estate. What sort of information are you looking for ?Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -

Thanks for the replies,
As there is no valid will, it must be letters of administration that was applied for.
When I looked on the Gov.UK (find a will) it came up as just "Grant only" while others came up "Grant and Will" that you can get copies of.0
