Paul56 myself and Parking Awareness Services Ltd

Hello again ,
I would like to thank Coupon Mad for the advice given and i am currently Happily Ignoring . However as i had no chance of gathering any evidence against the PCN (issued through the post) i took it upon myself to travel back to Blackpool and take a few pics ( see below ).

Having seen the size of the parking bays ( never really took any notice at the time ) at the car park, i can see the point Paul56 was trying to get across. Any reasonable sized family car would struggle to park within the confines of a marked bay.

I not the best with modern technology ,but hopefully the links to photographs will work .

Was a little shocked when i saw the parking bays (for a 2nd time ) .

  • Did you go there just to take that pic of the car? It does overhang the bay considerably.

If i was you i would ignore as said, but also i would be wanting to get in touch with maybe the local council and maybe local stores that they've got a dodgy company scaring customers off. The bay isn't big enough for a car so how can they issue a fine?

    They are scum.
  • I can only see the first pic for some reason but it looks like a Vauxhall Vectra.
    Parkers.co.uk has that at 4611mm

If you google 'standard car parking space size' you'll see many govt. and related docs giving a minimum of 4.8m x 2.4m

So if not meeting that I think they would have a bit of an argument as to why their spaces are so much smaller. Unless they specifically marked them for 'small' cars perhaps which they haven't AFAICS in the pic. Some councils actually seem to specify 5m x 2.4m. Would be interesting to see the planning permission for the site perhaps and see if it says anything about parking bays.
