Capital One CC ppi reclaim help

Hi all!

So i've spent some time reading through the ppi reclaim threads, more importantly the Cap One threads. After reading those stating they physically ticked a box for ppi on a posted application form, i became a bit disheartened as it seems these claims fall flat. However, i wanted to seek the advice of you knowledgable folk to see what your opinions are.
Here's my story:

Applied for a cap one cc when i was 18 in 2007 by postal form. I'm pretty sure i ticked the box for ppi as it has been on my account ever since.
At the time i was in full time education and part time work.
Since then i have had periods of unemployment but never claimed as i was never really fully aware of what it was, the initial form simply advised i should have it. I've never received any information or update about the ppi until about a month ago, cap one sent a letter explaining i'd had it since 2007 and outlined it's key benefits.

Is it possible for me to claim it all back or am i fighting a losing battle because "I" physically ticked the box?

Thanks for your thoughts guys!

John

If you actively bought it, it would be very hard to complain that it was mis sold to you.
  • I thought as much. My un-educated 18 year old self to blame there. Would the ppi even be useable though back then with me in full time ed and only working p/t?

Well, you ticked it to say you wanted it, so that's one strike agaisnt you, but if you weren't working full time and less than 16 hours a week it wouldn't have covered you anyway.
    Complin and see what happens.
