Hi everyone from a (highly unusual and strange!!)lovely sunny day in Bonny Scotland,:T
My cousin has recently had to move into her static caravan(St Andrews, Scotland) due to a marriage break up and is anxious to get her pc on the internet. She has no landline, but has a mobile phone. Does anyone know how easy it is to get an internet connection, either through satellite or her mobile phone? Would it be really expensive? What equipment would she need? I'm afraid we're not very 'pc, internet etc techy so we would need a kind of 'idiots guide' step by step type of explanation!! i.e. duh, plug the pc in, make sure you switch it on.....
you know what I'm talking about!! Is there anyone out there who kind help two 'mature' ladies!!!Pleease!!
Thanks for taking the time to read this!! Hope your weather is as good as mine!!:rotfl:
More info. She has both a laptop and a pc, if this makes any difference!? and her mobile networks are vodafone and orange? Please any techy guys out there???? Please help???:D

The 20p per minute is for calls not internet access. Unfortunately data is not cheap on mobiles. Might be worth checking 3 mobile:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Three are introducing a new package, £10 a month for 1gb of internet access, with free datacard... as of early september. Details on their website
What shall I put here?

Couldn't she just buy a data card and ask whoever runs the caravan park very very nicely if she can use their Wi-Fi connection (if they have one)?0

doubt they have 1 throughout the caravan site.
internet on mobiles is just 2 expensive new prices hit due to European regulations. or something like that0 -
What's mobile or Wi-Fi reception likely to be like inside a metal caravan?0

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. If she does go down the WiFi route, she would have to sit outside, or at least near an open window
