Alternatives to ebay

I don't like eBay anymore, when working out what I've sold for what I thought was good prices, when taking off charges and PayPal, then postage, eBay seem greedy and unreasonable.
What alternatives are there to eBay please?

You should work out fees before you list items. Ebay have recently had numerous offers for listing items that make it cheaper to sell.
There is Amazon, but their fees are a bit higher than ebays. However, sometimes you can sell items for more.
Other options are Gumtree and Facebook, which are cash on collection with no fees.0 -

Also yahoo auctions, although they are not so big in the uk. In the Far East, they say what is eBay? Oh is it like yahoo auctions?
Any other options for selling through the post?0 -

It depends on what you are selling and if you are selling personal items or are a business. You will struggle to get the customer base of Ebay and Amazon on other formats. That is what you are paying for.0 -

Yahoo auctions was shut down in the UK in 2002. I never used it, but I think it was big in the UK and I've seen odd mentions of it in the last few years. However, it's obviously not going to be big now as it shut down in almost all countries (remains in just 3).
Rakuten possibly, if you're a business. ebid, but it's highly unlikely you'll sell anything.
As already said, the reason fees are higher on ebay and amazon is because you're paying for the massive amount of buyers they have.0 -
If you're a private seller you can sell your stuff for free on http://www.hotukdeals.com/all/for-sale-trade/new:grinheart “Truly Great Madness Cannot Be Achieved Without Significant Intelligence.”:grinheart0

Be aware though that with no feedback you may have to send the item first before the other person will pay you. Make sure you read the rules carefully for how to sell.0 -
Ebid is good if your a buyer, but you have to pay £50 per year to be a seller, so you have to sell a fair bit to make it worth it.Nothing has been fixed since 2008, it was just pushed into the future0

The sad thing is that 4 is more than a lot of people have sold in that time lol.0 -

4 things
I've been on ebid for over 10 years and think I've sold either 2 or 3 things in all that time. I fell for the half price life membership as well, of course I now realise that it is always half price and their offer is a con.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
