I am after an e reader that is capable of using Google play store, just for use on holidays mainly reading so would need a light and anti glare screen. Has anyone got any suggestions please?

The only e-ink readers that support Android apps that I'm aware of are the Onyx Boox range but I have frankly no idea how well or not these deal with apps (e-ink refresh rates are not geared towards anything other than text really). It's been ages since I looked at their stuff so I can't remember if Onyx have the proper Play store anyway or if it's apps through their own portal.
I think if you must have the Google play store, then it'll probably have to be a tablet rather than a dedicated e-reader I'm afraid, unless someone else knows betterNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -

So you mean a tablet that you could also use as an ereader then?
In which case, just about any tablet will do, as all you need is to add an ebook app (Kindle for android, Moonreader, Coolreader etc).
I already have a tablet I just need something I can use to read books from my Google play store....0 -

Thanks, I looked at that earlier but due to a stroke I'm struggling making heads and tails of some publications and for some reason I'm more confused than ever
I wondered if I could maybe use something like a Kobo etc?
I apologise if I'm not being clear in my questions and replies.0 -

Thankyou, it does seem like I would be just as well purchasing another tablet, I have a Lenovo which is perfect for home but need something more compact for traveling/holidays.0 -
A kobo will allow you to read your google play books.
recommend heading over to mobileread.coms for further help & advice0 -

In which case, any epub capable ereader will work, which rules out a Kindle and as Polarpenguin says, any of the Kobo readers should work for you. The Kobo Glo HD (£109) is their latest release (the slightly bigger and waterproof H2O is £140), or if you don't want to spend that much, you could pick up the older Kobo Aura for £79 from John Lewis or Argos. All have an in-built front-lit screen.
You don't need an anti-glare screen or screen protector on an ereader, eink screens are perfect for using in the sun. What you will need is to buy a case to put your ereader in to protect the screen from damage.0 -
Ah ok, so you just need something that you can use to read books you have bought and downloaded from Google Play and not use the actual app like you would on a tablet?
That does change everythingI too had understood the question as the OP wanting to install apps from Google play on the device, rather than just read books bought and downloaded from said store

Yep, I agree
Edit: OP, straightforward instructions of how to get your books from Google Play to other eReaders can be found hereNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
I suggest you also consider the Nook.0
