Hi,
Had a Dell desktop for 15 months now, and the free McAfee security has elapsed.
I assume it's still running but will not be up-dated from now on.
I keep getting messages to re-new but just can't afford it, so can you tell me the best available free protection that I should have on the computer, and does the McAfee have to be deleted before I install new free software.
Sorry, don't know much about computers, so, if possible, idiot proof help please !
Thanks

Yes you need to uninstall McAfee before you can install another AV. There is an article on this site about free software including security.
Many people would recommend either AVG or Avast
Really good paid anti virus software: NOD32, Kaspersky, Steganos"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
