Modern motherboards do not use "watch batteries" but rather high capacity capacitors for the cmos memory.
Routers and the like use EPROM chips (like flash memory - Erasable Programmable Read only Memory)

Andy, think you mean EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read only Memory) you erase an EPROM using UV.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
