I wish to open an account through which to make investments with some savings.
The account would not be used other than to hold moneys temporarily between
investments and perhaps to receive dividends or interest payments from such investments.
It must offer money transfer facilities (Debit Card, BACS, D/D) and not require any commitment to a monthly transfer of funds into the account or any other regular transactions. It would however continuously hold a variable sum in credit.
Can anyone help me or am I wasting my time?

How much money are we talking about?
The obvious answer to your question is Tesco's as there is no funding requirements Currently, and pays 3% , but its only good up to £3000.0 -

Standard current accounts with HSBC, Barclays, Natwest etc don't require any regular pay in but you might as well earn some interest if you can - you could have two Tesco current accounts if wished.0 -
As other posts have indicated any bank will open an acount for you.
However what might be suspicious to a bank is why you do not think your current bank cannot help you especially if large sums are involved.0 -
Why the restriction on a monthly transfer in? Just set up a standing order for £1000 (or whatever the required amount is) from your 'normal' current account, and a standing order for the same amount going back, on the same day.I wish to open an account through which to make investments with some savings.

Which bank to use depends really on the expected balance, since all the interest-earning c/a.s have a top limit, which varies.0
