cracked paint

Hi

Just hoping to ask for a bit of advice.

We're expecting our first baby and want to get started on painting what will be their bedroom.

However, it looks like the previous tenants have tried to put matt paint on top of silk, resulting in lots of cracked paint.

I was wondering if there's anything I can use over the top to then paint over (planning on using matt Dulux Endurance) or are we going to have to sand it back and then put on a base coat?

Its nothing to do with putting matt paint on top of silk, its normally just down to age.


Sanding is the only way you will get a nice finish, and it will last longer.


Preparation, preparation, preparation is always the key

As above but you may have to fill any unlevel areas with plaster and sand again to level out.

Or you could wallpaper over.
