whatcar valuation

My car is valued at 4.3k on whatcar as a part exchange.

I have rang around a few garages today who say they will offer between 2k and 3.5k as a part exchange.

Are they taking the micky or are valuations on whatcar hugely ambitious?

Plug your details into webuyanycar and they will give you a raw trade price.

I take it its a 5 door in a decent colour and in VGC?

I have just tried webuyanycar and wewantanycar. They both came in around 3.3K. Had calls from them both within a few minutes of posting.

    £3.5K sounds about right then

The guy bidding you £2,000 is trying to stiff you!

Perhaps the garages are a bit wary of VW diesels following the recent publicity or maybe think it's a good chance to get one at a bargain price. At the end of the day you'll only get what someone is prepared to offer you private or trade no matter what it says in a book. If you're not happy don't deal.

I do like Golfs'. I am thinking about trading it in for another VW Golf (Petrol). I have a Diesal at the moment.

Would all thew news surrounding VW stop you buying a VW Petrol? I guess the news affects Seat, Scoda, Audi etc as well as they are all brands owned by VW. All the cars I like!

would it be reasonable to take the WBAC value and stick £1500 on it for a realistic private sale value?
