Potential Mains water issue

Dudes....bear with me please....

Where my mains water supply comes up from the ground and into the kitchen through the stop !!!! and onwards there is a strange noise.

It sounds almost like an electrical buzzing but clearly isn't.

There is no visible leak, it is all dry.

The noise stops if the stop c0ck is switched off.

I replaced the stop c0ck as I thought it might be obstructed, but the noise remains.

Any ideas? It is bugging the c0ck out of me now!

  • Do you have a water meter installed close to the house?

I'm guessing but perhaps it might be that.

The meter presumably has a rotating turbine that could be making the noise you describe.
