CPP Claim: confused by response and need guidance

Hi
I followed MSE to make CPP claim from Natwest in reference to a credit card. I received a letter - Part 1, states pre 2005 I paid 'X' amount and have been given a cheque for the amount; Part 2, states post 2005 and it is too late to make a claim.
I have also separately received a letter and form from RBS regarding PPI with Natwest and they are asking me to complete the form.
As far as I can see on statements there is only ever a charge for CPP not PPI - do I need to respond by completing form to RBS? Or do I just go ahead as per MSE and take Part 2 response to Ombudsman?
Any advice would be hugely appreciated!
Many thanks
