Hello all
I went shopping at Tesco, when I put my delta card to pay at the checkout the sales person swipe my card 2/3 times, then was ask for pin number. When I received the receipt, it looks as if it as the amount had been taken twice, told it second debit transaction had been canceled.
I phoned tesco, still in what they call a holding bank, and will disappear after 48 hrs and will not be claimed. Can’t show them statement as it as still not officially not been taken from the account. my personnel on line account still shows a debit is being processed of the cancelled traction this has been going on for (5 days) this means my account is showing debit waiting to be claimed.

If the second transaction has not been taken it doesn't sound like their has been an error.
If machines are consistently having problems reading your delta card, you should request a new one from your bank.
As you have not categorically lost any money or interest I'm not sure why you need to get your string measuring device out just yet.

, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.0 -
If it's been authorised twice and one has been cancelled then yes, you need to wait X days for a refund. Tesco don't make anything from the transaction because it takes Y days for their merchant account provider to pay funds into their bank account.
Just like if you buy something from a store and then return it, the money isn't credited immediately (though it's taken immediately when you buy it... hmm..)
Sounds like your card is a bit dodgy though, you should request a new one

Hi
I've come across this before - the only thing you can do is call your bank and see if they can remove it early.... However, most times this can't be done. I know it's frustrating, but it normally only takes a day or two to resolve, in the meantime could your bank put a temporary overdraft on your account?0 -
There would still be debit interest to pay though (I believe) if OP used the facility because Tesco's had 'reserved' some money....in the meantime could your bank put a temporary overdraft on your account?
I've had this same issue recently, with another supermarket, and my 'refund' took 7 days to come through.0 -

Better that than a bank charge or no access to funds.....just a suggestion.0 -
An excellent suggestion - everyone should have one - but I'd be wanting my costs back (from either Tesco [faulty equipment] or my bank [faulty card]) if I was "on a pension" [and maybe even if I wasn't!Better that than a bank charge or no access to funds.....just a suggestion.
