Euro bank account in UK

We are selling a house in europe and want to move the proceeds back to the UK as 'safer' but keep the money in euros as poor conversion right now. Anyone got any tips for a UK bank account offering personal customers euro accounts?
Will be a few hundred thousand pounds so concerned to keep transfer costs down.
Grateful for any advice

Please don't feed the troll.
OP, this is a subject that comes up on a very frequent basis, as search of this board should find plenty of threads in which it's discussed.
The main issue for you is that if you want the money fully protected you'll need to have accounts with several different financial institutions, and as you're unlikely to be able to find a Euro account that doesn't charge it could end up costing you quite a lot.0 -
Well, how do you know it doesn't get worse in the future? We are selling a house in europe and want to move the proceeds back to the UK as 'safer' but keep the money in euros as poor conversion right now
Can you not keep the money over there?
I think it's not the case for a really big amount and the only cost will be lost interest....you're unlikely to be able to find a Euro account that doesn't charge it could end up costing you quite a lot.0 -
Why are you asking me?so into which UK account(s) would you put a few hundred K euros?
My point was the cost, not safety that is a separate issue and has nothing to do with the currency.
Spread the money across several banks.
Barclays and Citibank spring to mind - that don't have monthly charges for big balances.0 -
I have the Barclays Euros account, I only use it for one offs for similar reasons as yours, not for regular Euros transactions. They've (fairly) recently added the option of transferring (and converting) Euros to the GBP account online, it's a convenient option, if you are ready to accept their currency conversion rates (might be fine for smaller amounts, but for larger I would use currency brokers).CC debt Oct 2015: £11,7000
