Single Person 25% Council Tax Discount Question

I'm aware that when one has over £5500 of savings it may effect their benefit. I'm not on benefit as such in respect of housing or anything dole related.
I've been wondering today though, if I pass £5500 could it begin to effect single person occupant 25% council tax discount?

Your 25% discount is because you live by yourself or if no-one else living with you counts as an adult (children under 18, full time students, etc). It has nothing to do with how much or how little you have in savings.0

Us single people have to pay 150% of the CT that a married/living together person has to anyway. You certainly don't want them trying to make out a single person should pay the same as a married couple do between them.
I'm one half of a couple but do agree with you. I never understood all the angst about the poll tax, why shouldn't all adults pay their share. At the time one of my neighbours was an elderly widow living alone, on the other side was a couple, both working, with three grown up children living at home, they were all working as well. Why they would think they should pay the same as the widow is beyond me.Sell £1500
