Your understanding is correct.
This isn't a LBCCC - debt collectors can't send one of those. Neither can they send the boys around to your front door. Credit rating can be affected only after court action if you don't pay any costs awarded against you - that's assuming you lost the case, which, with a sound defence, is far from a foregone conclusion.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I received this letter on the 18th feb (although it is dated the 12th), it says "letter before referral for legal action". I take it this is not a "letter before claim" and it can be ignored and filed with the others?
