The 80% loss and the information about the FSCS is from the MoneyBox interview last weekend. I'm surprised the author didn't pick up on the discussion towards the end of the interview suggesting the letter from the FSCS probably involved a claim for bad regulated financial advice.
I must be brimming with optimism, because I thought the "base case" 20% recovery estimate seemed a little on the low side, but perhaps after fees it could be about where things end up.0 -
The bond holders are going to pestered by claims firms how do these firms think they can get more money than the admistrators?I know there might be a difference in % they charge but how can one firm get more than another, how does all this work?0

If it's a genuine company then I suspect they will not be pestering bondholders but working with the administrators directly to achieve a better return.
I suspect the return may be nearer the 10% level once all has been recovered and fees paid.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
I wonder if this post from 2017 in another thread explains why some people think that these bonds were promoted by Martin Lewis / MSE.I have found an 8% interest on £5000 from London Capital & Finance Plc which came up when I googled Martin Lewis savings tips. However I cannot see it on the MSE site. Has anyone invested with this company please?0

Ah good old MJS Capital. I see Bond Review has a rather splendid quote from them at the top of every page

Thanks. I knew nothing about MJS, so the irony had totally escaped me.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

It's shame they didn't then google the site as it would have brought up threads like this one. I guess it's entirely possible that those sorts of search terms could have been purchasedRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

This Google ad is misleading if readers wish to report it via Google AdSense in the top right corner of the advert which targeted me on the BT website. This advert in the first link below links not to comparison regulated ISAs site page but to the second link below to an introducer to highly risky unregulated IFISAs simillar to the FSCS unprotected IFISA offered by London Capital and Finance.
