Is it worth phoning Ebay about a dogdy buyer anymore?

I have a buyer claiming INR practically from the moment I posted the parcel.

After a few odd messages I did a bit of digging and same buyer has claimed from 2 other sellers - maybe more, not heard back yet - in the last week for INR and been refunded by one.

What is the best course of action on this one? I asked the buyer this morning to open a case so that her claim goes through the correct procedures and she has gone quiet for now...

Usually when I phone Ebay unless I have tracking they don't want to know...

Any buyer that dings my 'radar' gets reported via the email system.

Refuse to refund unless she opens a case. If she is making a habit of this, maybe this will make her think twice.

Contact other sellers they have bought from to see if they have had issues.

If they get back in touch and confirm your suspicions, hit your buyer with that information if they do raise INR and offer to contact Royal Mail on their behalf to help them with all their mail that is going missing.

    Surprisingly effective.

Also worth using the online redelivery form and forwarding the confirmation to their email - the fact something has been logged with Royal Mail seems to scare a lot of my INR away.

Yes there are 2 other sellers who have got back to me, one refunded already yesterday before hearing from me, the other one is trying to stall the buyer, hers was signed for but tracking has not updated.
I asked the buyer to open a case yesterday morning but she has not done so.
I asked her if she had any issues with other parcels going missing and she said only mine...
I have not dared confront her - not sure it's within Ebay rules?!

I did that, I sent a screen shot of the DMO sales record - and got an answer from a different email saying 'what item is this for hun' - which made me think there were more than one items missing...
  • Just remember that actual scammers have learnt early on that they don't want to leave you bad feedback or get eBay involved so they come to a bit of a loose end when you leave them hanging on.

It is rarely a good thing dealing with people who call you hun.

I agree, i immediately think the worst.

It is very common on facebook when selling and as soon as they 'hun' me I know they aren't going to bother to collect.
