I think it would be good thing to share this with your partner and hand over the financial reigns over to her...
Trying to hide this will only make it worse in long run...
Being in debt is a horrible thing, but it can be sorted and you have taken the first step by coming here for advise, so well done.0 -

Really yes.
In my years of GA you will be astonished at how adept gamblers can be at obtaining credit. Not always in above board manners but often yes. I could regale you with tales of people on ordinary salaries obtaining more credit than this on Credit Cards, before we even get to remortgaging and the like.
OP, your problem is not your debt at the moment. Your problem is that you are a compulsive gambler. You are suffering a progressive mental illness which will get worse without treatment. This has led to thoughts of self destruction which are common amongst compulsiive gamblers who still suffer.
There is a way out of this, that way i believe for the vast majority of compulsive gambles is at Gamblkers Anonymous. Get yourself to a meeting, you will find a warm, friendly welcome and understanding ear. We have been there! If you are not ready for that yet then the world still has an endless amount pain waiting for you, when you cant take anymore GA will still be there for you.
I feel for you brother, but you can stop this madness, with help. Please find the courage to take it.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000

Yes really, this is no lie. I applied for the 2 loans of £20,000 at the same time and both got accepted at the same time.0

Hi all, thank you all very much for replying to this post. I have gone 3 whole days without gambling! And for me thats really good!! I will beat this addiction! I have my first appointment on the 29th for my CBT therapy, I need to address this depression before my gambling, I feel my depression drives me to gamble. I have spoken to my creditors and to my surprise they were very understanding and sympathetic and are more than willing to help, I have also complained to my bank for irresponsible lending in the hope they either wipe the debt or reduce it! I have plans in place now to clear my debt, it will take many years but I`m determined to do it!
I have also spoken (via email) to the online casino site and told them my situation and they have refunded me £2,000 back, of which they put in my online account with no wagering requirments (in the hope that I would play it off no doubt!!) but I was the stronger man and withdrew it to my bank.0 -
Hi Chris and well done for staying away from gambling. You have already made a great start by withdrawing the funds and not playing them
I have added K9 to my computer to remove the temptations to play bingo etc.
It really helps.
Good luck with your therapy and small steps will see you through.
