Bank A/c Numbers on Credit Report

I signed up to CreditScore (well, it's free) and when checking the details of the current accounts, I spotted that the last 4 digits of account number that they display on 3 of the 10 current accounts do not match the actual last 4 digits of my account numbers. Everything else is correct, date account opened, name, address and where there is an overdraft limit that is also correct.

So I double checked my noddle report (which I've been getting for 2 years!) and the exact same but wrong 4 digits are shown on that report for those 3 accounts.

Is this something some banks do - use a different number than the account number? Is it something that needs to be corrected?

It can happen - particularly on migrated accounts or where there have been system changes. The underlying account number can be different to what the customer sees.

If the accounts are otherwise being reported correctly, I wouldn't worry.

Thanks for the response. Kind of what I thought might be going on and can understand it on one of the accounts as I've had that for 28 years but the other two are less than 1 year old.
