Does anyone have any experience of getting life and critical illness cover with a pre- existing medical condition particularly Rheumatoid Arthritis?
Legal and general would not cover my wife for critical illness, are there companies who do this for a reasonable price or is it going to cost a fortune?

If you have an existing condition, no one will offer insurance against the possibility of you contracting that condition!
You might get cover that specifically excludes that particular condition - find a broker or ring insurers and ask.7
edit: your post would do better in the 'insurance' forum. This is not a property question.
edit 2: I've just googled "life assurnce pre-existing illness" and found:

there are many more......0 -
The insurance surgery are brokers and they found me a policy through ESMI (http://www.getesmi.co.uk/) which excludes current conditions but covers the rest. Pulse (http://www.pulse-insurance.co.uk/) also offered me cover but were much more expensive.0
