                    Hi
A friend of mine has received a letter and a cheque as an sorry from his bank becouse they did not informing him he could make over payments on a loan he took out, a few hundred quid and he never actually asked for the money it just arrived.
Has anyone else has a refund on possible interest that could have been saved due to not being informed about overpayments on a loan i have never come across it until today.
Cheers
Gavin

It is highly unlikely the payment was for that. I suspect he/she has read it wrong or has relayed it incorrectly to you.
A couple of lenders have recently fallen foul of the consumer credit act on some of their loans for a period and are currently making a refund of interest for those affected. Your friend could be one of those.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
