Pest infestation in the loft.

Hi.
On Tuesday I had to go into my loft as I was putting some Xmas drinks up there out of the way. Well when I got in there on a cardboard box I saw about 20 insects moving and when I looked at other things there were loads more crawling about.
The semi-house has a hipped roof so 3/4 is floored ant the parts by the eaves are not and the floor had loads of dead/alive beetles everywhere.
I looked on google and I think they are flour beetles or false/confused flour beetles. I have noticed a few over the summer but as doors/windows open I never gave them a 2nd thought.
The flour beetles are what you get in the larder, store cupboards and where food is but in my loft no food is stored.
Is there a way to get rid of them as everytime I have to go into the loft they will get into my house and then spread.
I have not got a link to or pics of these bugs but if you google you will find.
while I am doing this thread I am itching all over.
