statistics show that people who have had a claim involving personal injury are more likely to have another accident than people who have had a "vehicles only" claim. Insurers therefore charge more

Apparently, 62% of statistics are made up.

I've just tried one insurer and it didn't even ask the value of the claim - just date, type of claim and fault or not.

Do you have a source for your statistics and can you let us know which insurers charge more?

On that basis there is a 62% probability that the statement that 62% of statistics are made up is itself made up.

My partner is my top priority but she cant gain anymore than she's has now
    Incorrect.
She'll get a payment as compensation for her pain & suffering.
Depends how bad it was but likely low 4 figures.
Overall it's likely her compensation would outweigh your extra premiums.
A couple that shared finances would claim the compensation and use some of it to pay the extra premiums and keep the rest, but even as 2 individuals does it make sense for her to forego a 4 figure sum for you to be charged a 2 or 3 figure sum??

Have you quantified it yet as I suggested?
    What was the amount?
You may be getting all worked up over nothing, so the first thing to do is to get the facts and I've described how to do that.
  • hahahaha. Love it.

Ask if she will pay you the extra costs out of money

    But if she says no....

Then you ought to boot her to the kerb.

Depending if your collaborating with your partner or not, she might not be your partner anymore
