I am hoping I have put this in the right direction and someone can help.
We need a new printer at home which will be used by a student, 2 work from home individuals and for personal use also. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good printer that doesn't not require frequent ink replacements, has fast printing and has really good scanning facilities as we scan all our mail on a daily basis to reduce paper all over the place and to save space.
We go through a box of paper in a year so not that much printing but this would possibly increase in the next months.
Hopefully we don't want to spend more than £300 excluding ink. We were looking at the following;
Has anyone had experience with these two printers or can you recommend any?
Many thanks in advance,
R

I'd suggest a mono laser printer with scanner, rather than an inkjet, assuming that you don't need colour.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Ideally I would prefer with colour but I will have a lookOfficial SOS Club number 014 - Dry until 29.11.090

Colour laser if you don't need photos - you can get them around £100, plenty of choice.0

My friend has a printer/scanner combo. When it runs out of any colour ink, it won't scan!
Frankly, I wouldn't dream of buying a combo. If one goes wrong you've lost both functions.
I use a Brother HL-3040CN colour laser printer and an Epson Perfection 4870 photo scanner. Both obsolete now but probably cheap second-hand off eBay.0 -
I have always bought HP printers. I think they are the right balance of quality and value. They are well supported and the consumables can be had at fair prices. I currently have a HP wireless mono laser which does very nicely.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Officejet 8620 from Ebuyer. £60 cash back and 3 year warranty. We have one, a little bulky but works really well. Ink cartridges are larger so better value and I buy cheap ones off eBay!0
