Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a recommendation on buying good quality candle wicks for making my own candles.

The only ones I can buy near to me are poor quality platted ones. I was looking for wax wicks, preferably with those little metal discs at the end to weight them down so they stay where I put them.

I've seen vendors online, but was wondering if anyone could recommend ones they have used themselves?

Many thanks.

  • I'm not too sure I understand what 'wax wick' is, are you looking for waxed wick? The metal disk at the end are called candle 'sustainers' and you can buy them ready crimped onto the end of a wick if you prefer not to do this stage yourself.

I've bought many different types of wick from
http://www.4candles.co.uk/candle-making-wick/raw-waxed-samples.html and my favourite is the Wedo Eco range as I only use Soy Wax these days. 4candles are a very helpful company and I'm sure you'll find what you're after there.

    That's the one!
The metal disk at Sorry, I was typing on my phone and they have a habit of correcting my words as I go along. You have to have eyes like a hawk to change all the changes!

Thanks for the advice. :) Apologies for the late reply - I thought I had replied already.
