Please help! Advice re: Car PCP

Hi there,
Really needing some advice. I am 12 months into a PCP on an audi a1. However I am now pregnant and i will really struggle to be able to afford the monthly payments while on maternity leave (I will only get stat maternity pay) Just wondering what my options are? I am going to the dealership soon but I'm stressing out about this! I'm guessing I'll either have to pay thousands to get out of it or I'll just have to be poor for a while!
Is there any way to extend a PCP? If I could add a year or two I'd be happy with that.
Grateful for any advice, thank you!

Have a look at your agreement to see what it says. Some deals you can hand the car back at any time or with others you need to have got about half way through.
The only problem is you'll then be without a car.0 -
I had a PCP with Hyundai, and I'm sure it said in the contract that one payment holiday was allowed.0

Might sound a bit harsh but its not the dealer, dealership, finance company or Audis fault your pregnant and will struggle.0

Try and make some savings elsewhere.0

It's the finance co. you need to talk to, not the dealer. Extending the PCP to 4 or 5 years will mean paying far more in the long run with the extra interest. What were you intending to do in 2 years if you can't finance the balloon payment? Hand the car back, or start another PCP?No free lunch, and no free laptop

I would say it's very harsh and completely uncalled for. A new poster asks for help and gets this, she probably won't be back! I personally saw absolutely nothing in her post suggesting that she blamed the dealership, Audi or finance company, she just came here to ask for some advice about options.
It's nice to see that this boards BMW M3 lover agrees with you though. Oh and you've thanked his, how sweet.0 -
If you've got a partner who drives, could they run the car and either sell theirs or swap it with you?
Or close family that might take it on for you?0
