75 GB disk capacity

Samsung laptop playing up so slow decided to have somebody repaired it. He said the c drive if full of error and he suggested I replaced it with a second hand one which I did. Got the computer today and noticed the hard drive capacity is only 75GB and there is only 14gb. I have emailed him and am waiting for his answers. I guess the other option is to use an external drive but they are not very reliable, wd plays up sometimes it is recognised sometimes not. Thanks

Is the capacity stated on the front of the drive 75GB?

If it's been used before you might only be seeing part of it - in Windows try administrative tools --> Computer Management and the 'Disk Management' tab. You may have unallocated space on the drive.

Could it be partitioned and/or could some be reserved for a rescue mission?

Get it back to him and tell him to sort it. Did he come recommended? Sounds like you've been ripped off to me...

Samsung Q330 with the 320GB HDD? Really no need to put a second hand drive in a machine these day when you can get an SSD for £30. How much did you pay?
You could have done a better job yourself. Clearly too quick to hand it over to someone else to fix.
